Jian Xiang Lian received his Bachelor degree in Applied Physics and Chemistry in 2010, and completed his Master degree in Applied Physics – Nanotechnology in 2012, at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium.
His Master thesis was supervised by Jean-Christophe Charlier and Benoit Hackens.
He started a PhD under the supervision of Yoann Olivier and David Beljonne, in the group of Roberto Lazzaroni in the laboratory for the Chemistry of Novel Materials (CMN) at the University of Mons (UMons).
His research interests include the electronic (transport) properties of graphene and their modification by chemical functionalization.
The study is based on First-Principles calculations and Molecular Dynamics simulations.
