David Dellemme received his Master’s degree in chemistry from the Université de Mons in 2021. For his master’s thesis, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Mathieu Surin in the Laboratory for Chemistry of Novel Materials (CMN) on a joint experimental and theoretical characterisation of sequence-defined oligomers.
In the same year, he was awarded a FRIA grant from the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique (FNRS) and started a PhD, still under the supervision of Prof. Mathieu Surin. In the continuity of his Master’s thesis, he is studying sequence-defined molecules, with the objective of understanding in detail the folding and supramolecular assembly of sequence-defined oligomers relevant for catalysis. In particular, he focusses on the relationship between sequence, structure and function in these synthetic macromolecules, in order to guide the design towards programmable folding and increased catalytic efficiency
