Marco Bardini received a dual Master’s degree in Chemistry in 2019 at the University of Parma (Italy) and the University of Cape Town (South Africa). His Master thesis was carried out under the joint supervision of Prof. Alessia Bacchi (UniPR), Prof. Susan Bourne (UCT) and Dr. Savannah Zacharias (UCT) and it was focused on the synthesis and characterization of novel Cu(II) Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOF), mainly via X-ray crystallography.
Mr. Bardini joined the Chemistry of Novel Materials group at the University of Mons on December 2019 as part of the Marie Skodlowska Curie Action project UHMob, and his work under Prof. David Beljonne will be focused mainly on improving the theoretical understanding of charge transfer models in organic semiconductors in order to drastically enhance the charge mobility performances of selected compounds within this class of materials. During the project, Mr. Bardini is scheduled to spend time working at Kyoto University (Japan) under the supervision of Prof. Seki Shu and at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Germany) under the supervision of Dr. Mischa Bonn.
